Description:
I bought this typewriter very cheaply from a fellow collector in Switzerland. Unfortunately, the machine is not functional. Several parts are missing, A leaf spring responsible for moving the carriage is missing. A knurled screw for the ribbon spool is missing. A key is missing, as are the paper pushers on the carriage and a... Original line shift lever. The right screw, located on the carriage guide rail, has been truncated and welded in place. The left-hand side lever is also missing. All typebars and key levers are rusted. The serial number on the guide rail of the trolley frame is no longer fully legible. A 1 is visible at the beginning, then something else. It looks like a 0, then you can't see anything, and then at the end you can make out the remains of a 9. The serial number was scratched by hand onto the underside of the frame. Specifically... on the bottom of the typewriter, below the carriage spring housing. To see this hand-engraved serial number, the machine must be lifted and the bottom inspected. The serial number on the typebar frame has been ground off. But there is a second serial number on the frame, located where the key levers pivot, and this one... The serial number matches the number on the machine's cast iron frame. Bingo! But despite its poor condition, I'm very glad I bought this machine. Because it's a direct descendant of the famous Daugherty typewriter.

I come from southern Germany and have been collecting historical typewriters for 10 years. I'm interested in the antique machines built before 1945. All machines built after 1945 are not used for collecting but for writing
